Neither was ignoring the deep-seated and carefully controlled fear that accompanied the realization that somehow he'd been taken from Magnus' apartment. Magnus... The thought of his boyfriend caused a spike of panic that Alec quickly suppressed... until he thought of his family and the possibility that they could be here as well.
Those thoughts had him out of his room, jogging down the stairs to reach the lobby in hopes of finding some answers. When Alec realizes that there's no staff around, he finds a place in the front lobby where he can watch everyone who enters and leaves the room, hoping - and dreading - that he'll see a familiar face or that he'll get some answers.]

[Easter isn't a holiday that is celebrated by Shadowhunters, but Alec knows the basics. He knows about the significance of it in many religions and how Mundanes celebrate with colored eggs and candy. Easter egg hunts aren't something that he's ever been a part of, but that isn't why he's suspicious. Creepy, run down hotel having, by its standards, an elaborate event.
Alec's too suspicious to be comfortable with all this. But he does pick up one of the baskets, even if he feels ridiculous carrying it. He even starts looking for eggs since some of the candy looks like it might taste good, keeping an eye on the younger guests to make sure that nothing interrupts their fun.]
