sit yourself down, and meet the best inn keeper in town ( O P E N )

Who: Everyone!
Where: The initial arrival rooms, the main lobby, all over the place.
When: February 3rd
What: Welcome, newbies.

ARRIVAL.
you wake up when you hit the floor in a dark room, and the air is knocked out of your lungs. the carpet is threadbare, worn with use, kind of dusty. and you're not the first person to endure this crash landing. nor will you be the last.

once your vision rights itself, you can see the well-lit hallway through the doorjam straight ahead of you. not to say there’s monsters in the shadows, but something propels you towards that door and out into the bright hallway beyond.

and once outside your room, you can hear it: the steady thrum of rain outside.

MAIN LOBBY.
there's a staircase at the end of the lengthy hallway you tumble out of. grab your suitcase and follow the dull green exit signs on the ceiling until you reach the disappointingly bland stairs that lead you down to the ornate old fashion hotel lobby.

to your left is a warmly crackling fireplace, to your right is a lobby desk. straight ahead are three large sets of doors, though only one of them is open to the public. and outside the few (curtained, permanently dark) windows is the continually steady hiss of rain.

welcome to the hotel.

FRONT DESK.
though there is a bell and a plaque designating the desk to be the main desk, the customer service desk, there are currently no staff members behind it. none shall answer your calls, either.

terribly sorry for the inconvenience.

SCREENING ROOM.
on a tall pull-down screen, a silent version of nosferatu will be playing on loop. at the back of the room, between the neat rows of fold out chairs, mounted on a wobbly table is the old timey projector, and mounted on the walls are some rather old speakers that warble out "terrifying" old timey music.

along the curtained windows is another long table, with a large bowl that looked like it once would have held popcorn. but is now unfortunately empty. same for the large hot drink dispensers labeled "hot chocolate" and "coffee".

OTHER.
the ballroom and breakfast hall are currently closed, grand doors locked.

there is no main door leading to the outside, good luck trying to find one.

the door to the courtyard is locked.

ROOMS.
you've a room key with your assigned room number on it. all the new guest residences will be located on floors one & two. while there is an open elevator in the main lobby, and the buttons light up inside, the doors will not close. all in all, you'd be better off taking the stairs.

while they're the same stairs you undoubtedly came down to get to the lobby, the door to the endless hall everyone woke up in will not reappear between the main floor and the subsequent residential halls.

there are twenty rooms per floor. feel free to get to know your surroundings; or your neighbors as they trickle in around you.
pajarita: (because there were so many red flags)

agreed

Maybe they're aiming at a metaphor -- whoever Generous is, maybe they're out to suck our...blood. [her face grows a little pale by the end, the parallels between that and the mountain men too big not to consider. she tries to shake it off, but not completely.]

Hi, I'm Raven.
amplified: { 3.23 } « ᴏɴᴇ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴛɪᴍᴇ ᴡɪᴛʜ ғᴇᴇʟɪɴɢ » (and it's pushing up at the ceiling.)

xoxoxooooo ♥

Um - I'll pass on having my blood sucked. I've dealt with enough biting in the last couple of years to last me a lifetime. ( leaving that open ended, like a boss. )

Lydia. How are you handling all of this? You're not injured, right? I met someone who looked pretty beat up.
pajarita: (relentless)

[personal profile] pajarita 2015-02-16 07:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously? [back up to the part where you're all used to biting? is that a sexy kind of biting or does she have to worry about cannibalism now? yeah she's going to worry about cannibalism now.

she shakes her head quickly, as if to say 'don't worry about it'. there are faint bruises and scrapes, and the brace on her leg, but that's just another day on the ground for you.]
I'm fine.
amplified: { 3.22 } « ɢᴏɴᴇ ᴀᴡᴀʏ » (i've been hiding letters.)

[personal profile] amplified 2015-03-04 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
As a heart attack. ( sorry, raven. trauma unit 001 here, and the biting isn't the kind that ends in wet sheets, either. sucks a lot. she won't drop the word 'werewolf' just yet, though. easing into it bruh. easing in. ) Good. That's a relief. At least some of us are in decent physical shape. Still doesn't explain where we are, or how we got here, but it's a start. Do you have any medical experience? Maybe we could set up a place where the injured can be treated... ( BLUH BLUH BLUH )
pajarita: (up on the radar)

[personal profile] pajarita 2015-03-04 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[actually you know what, that 'decent physical shape' has raven directing a very weird look at lydia, then looking pointedly at the brace wrapped around her left leg. decent her left foot.

she shakes her head.]
I'm not the medic.
amplified: { 2.02 } « ɪ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ɪᴛ ᴀʟʟ » (i wanna lose control.)

[personal profile] amplified 2015-03-06 03:00 am (UTC)(link)
( 'NAH I'M OK' does not equal LEG BRACE, but she assumes that raven has a good idea of her pain threshold. she's just rollin' with the punches. ) Do you know someone here who is?
pajarita: (now another one bites the dust)

[personal profile] pajarita 2015-03-06 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
I know someone who is. [The Griffin women, Jackson. Unfortunately --] But none of them here.
amplified: { 4.12 } (i wanted to be the sun.)

[personal profile] amplified 2015-03-09 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. ( well that poses a problem. ) I've read a lot of medial textbooks and I'm very good with chemistry, if push comes to shove. But I've never had any experience with setting bones, or suturing... ( she makes a disgusted face ) wounds... You know. The actual part that involves poking flesh.
pajarita: (unsure)

[personal profile] pajarita 2015-03-09 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Chemistry makes us good at making bombs, not stitching people up. [there, have that subtle little jewel dropped into your lap, murmured pensively to herself.]
