sit yourself down, and meet the best inn keeper in town ( O P E N )

Who: Everyone!
Where: The initial arrival rooms, the main lobby, all over the place.
When: February 3rd
What: Welcome, newbies.

ARRIVAL.
you wake up when you hit the floor in a dark room, and the air is knocked out of your lungs. the carpet is threadbare, worn with use, kind of dusty. and you're not the first person to endure this crash landing. nor will you be the last.

once your vision rights itself, you can see the well-lit hallway through the doorjam straight ahead of you. not to say there’s monsters in the shadows, but something propels you towards that door and out into the bright hallway beyond.

and once outside your room, you can hear it: the steady thrum of rain outside.

MAIN LOBBY.
there's a staircase at the end of the lengthy hallway you tumble out of. grab your suitcase and follow the dull green exit signs on the ceiling until you reach the disappointingly bland stairs that lead you down to the ornate old fashion hotel lobby.

to your left is a warmly crackling fireplace, to your right is a lobby desk. straight ahead are three large sets of doors, though only one of them is open to the public. and outside the few (curtained, permanently dark) windows is the continually steady hiss of rain.

welcome to the hotel.

FRONT DESK.
though there is a bell and a plaque designating the desk to be the main desk, the customer service desk, there are currently no staff members behind it. none shall answer your calls, either.

terribly sorry for the inconvenience.

SCREENING ROOM.
on a tall pull-down screen, a silent version of nosferatu will be playing on loop. at the back of the room, between the neat rows of fold out chairs, mounted on a wobbly table is the old timey projector, and mounted on the walls are some rather old speakers that warble out "terrifying" old timey music.

along the curtained windows is another long table, with a large bowl that looked like it once would have held popcorn. but is now unfortunately empty. same for the large hot drink dispensers labeled "hot chocolate" and "coffee".

OTHER.
the ballroom and breakfast hall are currently closed, grand doors locked.

there is no main door leading to the outside, good luck trying to find one.

the door to the courtyard is locked.

ROOMS.
you've a room key with your assigned room number on it. all the new guest residences will be located on floors one & two. while there is an open elevator in the main lobby, and the buttons light up inside, the doors will not close. all in all, you'd be better off taking the stairs.

while they're the same stairs you undoubtedly came down to get to the lobby, the door to the endless hall everyone woke up in will not reappear between the main floor and the subsequent residential halls.

there are twenty rooms per floor. feel free to get to know your surroundings; or your neighbors as they trickle in around you.

Log book hm?

[Gabriel takes a quick glance around before shrugging. No sign of it, but then there are quite a few things missing that he's already noticed. There's windows but no main door for starters and that's the kicker. Whomever had made this place wasn't intending on anyone leaving and Gabriel doubts a logbook would help so much with that.

He drums fingers on the surface of the table, looking to most like an automatic thing where in reality he's testing out the texture. Everything feels spot on and if Gabriel were a lesser person he'd be jealous at the quality of the set up.]

Can't see it. Let's be real here, if they don't want you to find it, you're not going to find it, kid.

[ He'd immediately noticed the lack of a main entrance as well. The whole set up was creepy-even to him and he doesn't usually scare easy. He'll chalk it up to the stress of black organisation and suddenly finding himself kidnapped again. He tries not to let the comment irk him too much-he's a famous detective thank you very much, there's nothing that he can't find. ]

[ It's the stress he tells himself again. This is probably just some kind of stupid dream. ]

I thought it might tell me if my family was here since I haven't seen them but I guess not.

I was also trying to find some kind of address for this place since I'm pretty sure it's not Tokyo.

You really think someone who can drag people here without them knowing it is really going to leave something like that lying around?

[Even Gabriel is skeptical. Anyone who has the power to drag archangels into the mix without their consent is way up the totem pole so to speak. Not that he'll be mentioning that out loud. And where some would want their families around Gabriel knows he's blessed his own aren't.]

And doesn't look like Tokyo or the US or anywhere. But then again can't see anything for the rain out there so we would never know. Pretty sure I saw a film that started like this once, that didn't end well for the guys in it.

I've seen several. [ Mostly Mystery-thriller because he can never get enough murder mysteries. They keep his mind active and when his mind is active it's much less likely to start tearing itself to shreds. ]

And you're underestimating how arrogant some people can be. I live at a detective agency so I've seen all kinds.

[ He won't go into detail but he's seen criminals intentionally leave hints because they thought they were better or to mislead the investigation. Meanwhile, he'd really like to know what's in those locked drawers. Would it be at all possible to take the back of the desk off? That should give him access to those drawers. ]

Lived in a detective agency? There are so many jokes in that I don't know where to start, which is lucky for you. And even if you've seen several, I bet you've seen nothing like this.

[Even Gabriel hasn't seen anything like this, and that is a big problem right there. The only place the angel even knows of that has no escape hatches is Purgatory, and the lack of monsters and things with teeth means this place likely isn't it.

So then what the hell is it? If angels needed sleep, Gabriel would probably be losing it.]
For all we know it's not even the same world, universe, reality. All that hocus pocus jazz.
