sit yourself down, and meet the best inn keeper in town ( O P E N )

Who: Everyone!
Where: The initial arrival rooms, the main lobby, all over the place.
When: February 3rd
What: Welcome, newbies.

ARRIVAL.
you wake up when you hit the floor in a dark room, and the air is knocked out of your lungs. the carpet is threadbare, worn with use, kind of dusty. and you're not the first person to endure this crash landing. nor will you be the last.

once your vision rights itself, you can see the well-lit hallway through the doorjam straight ahead of you. not to say there’s monsters in the shadows, but something propels you towards that door and out into the bright hallway beyond.

and once outside your room, you can hear it: the steady thrum of rain outside.

MAIN LOBBY.
there's a staircase at the end of the lengthy hallway you tumble out of. grab your suitcase and follow the dull green exit signs on the ceiling until you reach the disappointingly bland stairs that lead you down to the ornate old fashion hotel lobby.

to your left is a warmly crackling fireplace, to your right is a lobby desk. straight ahead are three large sets of doors, though only one of them is open to the public. and outside the few (curtained, permanently dark) windows is the continually steady hiss of rain.

welcome to the hotel.

FRONT DESK.
though there is a bell and a plaque designating the desk to be the main desk, the customer service desk, there are currently no staff members behind it. none shall answer your calls, either.

terribly sorry for the inconvenience.

SCREENING ROOM.
on a tall pull-down screen, a silent version of nosferatu will be playing on loop. at the back of the room, between the neat rows of fold out chairs, mounted on a wobbly table is the old timey projector, and mounted on the walls are some rather old speakers that warble out "terrifying" old timey music.

along the curtained windows is another long table, with a large bowl that looked like it once would have held popcorn. but is now unfortunately empty. same for the large hot drink dispensers labeled "hot chocolate" and "coffee".

OTHER.
the ballroom and breakfast hall are currently closed, grand doors locked.

there is no main door leading to the outside, good luck trying to find one.

the door to the courtyard is locked.

ROOMS.
you've a room key with your assigned room number on it. all the new guest residences will be located on floors one & two. while there is an open elevator in the main lobby, and the buttons light up inside, the doors will not close. all in all, you'd be better off taking the stairs.

while they're the same stairs you undoubtedly came down to get to the lobby, the door to the endless hall everyone woke up in will not reappear between the main floor and the subsequent residential halls.

there are twenty rooms per floor. feel free to get to know your surroundings; or your neighbors as they trickle in around you.

[ she nods. ] A lot of people. Mostly from different places. [ she looks up and down the hall. not much of a welcoming committee. ] It's been a rough day. Everyone's a little - [ she gestures: crazy. ]
carjacked: (I love you when)

[ Neal's been mugged before. You live your life wandering quasi-homelessly in New York City, you're bound to get mugged at least once or twice in your life. He never been mugged in a hotel before, though, definitely not in a possible-afterlife hotel by what sounds like an angry Portuguese woman.

His hands come up automatically like one does when there's a gun to their back, head jerking backward to try and relieve some of the pressure off of his larynx. ]

I don't understand- hold on, I don't understand what you're saying-

[ He throws out, enunciating clearly, voice raising a couple octaves because if he's going to get re-murdered for not following directions, he wants to make it abundantly clear it's because he doesn't understand those directions. ]

Imprisonment's their forte.

[if these nameless, faceless forces were going to be good at one thing, why did it have to be that?]

I've found my way out of worse places, but this is starting to look like it might take some time.
pajarita: (because there were so many red flags)

agreed

Maybe they're aiming at a metaphor -- whoever Generous is, maybe they're out to suck our...blood. [her face grows a little pale by the end, the parallels between that and the mountain men too big not to consider. she tries to shake it off, but not completely.]

Hi, I'm Raven.
pajarita: (relentless)

[personal profile] pajarita 2015-02-08 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
Nope -- do you?
pajarita: (i'm still fighting for peace)

[personal profile] pajarita 2015-02-08 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah -- it recovered. [look at that proud mama smile, good earth, well done.]

You have? [and that there's something to take note of. allies are always good to have, especially those with the same goals as you: getting out.

she's already gone through the process of dismissing her as either ark people or grounder, so she goes for:]
I'm Raven.

You need to take a breath.

[Because this? This doesn't do them any good. It's not going to get back what they lost, and more importantly, it's not going to get them home. It's different for Regina, that much Emma does understand. She hasn't had magic for long enough to actually embrace her abilities, but to Regina, it's a part of her.]

We're going to get back to our son, we just need some time to figure this out.

[And time is one thing they seem to have. She reaches out, one hand resting against Regina's arm reassuringly.]

We can do this. We're going to do this.

Like your mom.

[It's depressingly easy to see how little it helps when he rubs at his eyes, disappointment seeping in with an apology she didn't need. Being told she looks like someone's mom is weird, but she's pretty sure he's not saying it to freak her out. If she saw someone in here who looked like Mary Margaret, it'd throw her off, too.

She's just hoping this is an isolated incident.]

It's okay. As crappy as things are around here, I probably shouldn't even be surprised.

[Except how can she not be surprised at that? Emma still waves it off, watching him quietly for another second.]

Are you okay?

[ he's not making you a bracelet, Kirk, he's just not. still, sharing a drink is a good way to get to know someone. the pirate's favorite, most of the time. he just wishes he had more drink to share, because when his supply is gone it's gone.

where is he from... he had to ask a question the pirate can't rightly answer. ]
I was in the realm of Maine, before I was here. [ not quite the same but close enough. he eyes Kirk's out outfit again before lifting a brow. ] And you?

[ she isn't wrong there. the place they are trapped is impossibly small. he's been trapped before, really this is nothing new, but at least Neverland felt expansive. he feels strangled in this tiny inn, and so far there are no exits and no answers, only too many people and too much confusion.

he nods slightly at her note they'll see each other again, again, not quite an answer, yet he doubts she needs one. he's completely through the door as she starts to close it and he struggles with how to close the encounter. someone else might have said they were sorry, and not really meant walking into her room without permission, but he's not that sort of person.

sorry doesn't do any good. it doesn't heal any wounds, for a stranger to be sorry. so instead, he offers, ]
Rest well. [ she looks like she needs it, and impertinent or not, it's a worthy suggestion. when he was grieving, he didn't sleep, it didn't do him any favors.

he doesn't wait for her door to close, though, departing on his own. not toward his room, just to stumble around for more exploration. he's not quite ready to give up on a way out. when is he? he'll keep looking, and he's not likely to disturb the lady again. ]

[ right, it is very clear that he pressed a nerve. he even lifts palms in slight surrender. he's getting the sense they're having conversations about two separate things. ]

The Snow I know is a woman, is what I mean. I'm just as confused as you are, darling, and snarling at me won't help or give me any answers to give you.

[ Emma has had enough time with a supposedly dead man to digest it properly. the pirate isn't quite there yet. he's not sure if he's in reality or some sort of mad dream or delusion. he's not a man that perfectly understands magic, granted, yet death was supposed to be the one thing no sort of magic could reverse. then again, it wasn't supposed to be possible to fall through time, either, and they'd managed that. he's just struck a bit senseless by the sudden presentation, combined with everything else.

Hook is rarely at a loss for words but this is a moment that applies. he can't quite understand how the two of them were managing conversation, yet he supposes staring dumbstruck and sentimental isn't going to get them anywhere. he tries to knit himself down into proper order, left hand (knuckles still dinged from colliding with a certain knaves face) clenching open and closed.

he had imagined they found their way into a new, baffling sort of curse before he'd seen Baelfire back from the grave, but now? well, even the Dark One couldn't cast a curse like this, not on his own. something or someone else is responsible, and Baelfire being alive is a good thing, they saved Marian, they can certainly save Milah's boy and Henry's father and Emma's...

Hook doesn't enjoy thinking about the last bit, but the end of that sentence means that he'd best have enjoyed that one moment they got to share, it's like to be their last. now is not the time, and he successfully diverts his attention from self pity. it's not going to help them out of this place.

inquiry of his hand gets a set of his jaw. he's no longer particularly proud of that new addition, all considered. the night before he'd been bold and brash, thinking he had the Crocodile beat, for once in a very long life. the truth of it was a bit more apparent now. ]
Extra. [ isn't that the truth? he shakes his head at Emma's inquiry, it doesn't matter what he is but for all intents and purposes, he's fine. now is not the time to tell her he's bargained for a dastardly hand, now is it? ] Fine, Swan. Any idea what's going on? All I've found is people wandering about, confused, no exits. And not everyone is from Storybrooke. [ there was a grouchy blonde that helped him cement that theory, long story. that snow queen couldn't have done this, could she? ]

[ Bucky almost smiles at her wit. She's quick, easygoing, and personable -- all traits that put his every sense on the alert. He hadn't survived this long by being careless; it's the one you least expect that will put a knife in your back.

He doesn't move a muscle as he contemplates her comment, and it's a few moments after that he responds. ]
I hear he's brainwashed. [ And maybe, just maybe, he's testing her. ] Any chance of that?
warring: (015.)

[personal profile] warring 2015-02-08 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[ this 'annie cresta' is proving quite cooperative. a moment's pause, and then lexa releases her holds on both annie's throat and limbs. instead, she's standing now and casting a tense glance down the hallway. ]

What is a 'hotel'? [ that seems like the next pressing question at hand. ]
warring: (002.)

[personal profile] warring 2015-02-08 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Of your name? [ that tone is quite nearly calling bullshit, and when lexa calls bullshit she does so with quite a bit of pain attached. ]
warring: (019.)

[personal profile] warring 2015-02-08 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
[ english. she recognizes it at once, and she changes tactics to match. ]

You will tell me your name and where I've been taken. [ while not an outright threat, her tone is low with warning. it's quite possible that his 'unarmed' gesture is his saving grace in this particular instance. ]
carjacked: (I blame it on my own supply)

[personal profile] carjacked 2015-02-08 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Jesus, thank god, she speaks English. He's perfectly still during her threat, head pulled back, muscles rigid. Despite that, he still sounds respectably calm (if a bit loud) when he answers: ]

Neal Cassidy.

[ And... his head moves a little, just an inch, to try and get a look at the person that seems perfectly capable of putting him in a sleeper hold if she wanted to. No really, it's impressive. Terrifying, but you know. Impressive. ]

This is a hotel- at least, I'm pretty sure it is. I- honestly, I swear to god- I got no idea where or how, I died and I just- woke up here. Same as you.

[ It's a reasonable, rational tone. Something as placating as it is obedient. ]
gloriouscurse: (; this seems shady)

[Regina takes a deep breath, looking around his room and when he's done, looks at him.]

The last thing I remember - and this all you get to know - Emma defeated the Snow Queen. She's gone. If she's still around for you? Then we're from different points in time. And this sorcerer...maybe. If it's not Rumplestiltskin behind this...I don't know.

[Her eyes meet his as she shakes her head a little.]

Maybe we're just...caught up in someone else's curse. [Like all the collateral damage from her revenge on Snow.]

[Tauriel watches as the girl collects herself and feels slightly mollified; as she said, she is not used to being mocked by anyone, least of all a human she has never met before, but she isn't so unreasonable not to know that a situation like this does not necessarily bring out the best in people. With tensions high and no answers to be found, it is hardly surprising that tempers are burning and feathers get ruffled.

The girl sticks out her hand to her, not in a fashion Tauriel is familiar with, but she feels compelled to return the gesture.

Instead of clasping her palm, however, Tauriel reaches slightly further in and curls her fingers around her forearm instead, a strong clasp of her hand that is belied by the delicacy of her fingers.]

I am Tauriel. [Letting go of the girl's arm, Tauriel presses her hand to her chest, her head inclining slightly in a barest hint of a bow.] Mae g'ovannen, Skye.

[It... wouldn't be the first time he'd ever been hit by a ginger though. Sad to say. But it's been a few years since Lily's whacked him. He's not a battered wife, don't worry strange girl.]

You're Lily too? Weird.

[But not his Lily, and that's who he's really looking for.]

My wife, you look a lot like her from behind. Which-- okay sounds a bit perverted. It's not! I'm worried. That's all. You haven't seen another bird with the same hair and same name apparently around have you?
kirking: (hey baby)

[personal profile] kirking 2015-02-08 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[He actually laughs at that. Not at her, no he's not that mean.]

I won't tell a soul, scout's honor. It'll be out little secret.
kirking: (oh well yolo let's go blow up klingons)

[personal profile] kirking 2015-02-08 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Kirk gives him a weird look for the way he phrased that. 'The realm of Maine'. Who talks like that?

And what's wrong with his outfit??? This gold is majestic and clashes horribly with his hair and that's awesome.]

We were by a planet called M19 before I woke up here. Not very original, I agree. The surface was just as boring too.
kirking: (oh well yolo let's go blow up klingons)

[personal profile] kirking 2015-02-08 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Not the first time that Kirk's ever been given that look. It bounces off him, his skin's pretty thick and he's still smiling but he's not quite as gross as he was five seconds ago.]

Funny.

I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours.

Well no shit.

[Gabriel is almost impressed. Still, if he knows anything about the show etc, he's not saying anything on it. As an archangel he's all too aware of how things like that can, basically, break shit.]

I think we've all got things to be getting back to, kid. As to if we get there is a whole different thing.
